Description
What is it?
This is an engaging worksheet for infant and primary students to practice food vocabulary. They invent their own pizza, that you can then use as part of a speaking role play activity.
How do you use it?
Give the worksheet to students as part of your planning for a food based topic and explain that they have to invent their own pizza.
- They will choose up to 6 toppings to add to their pizza.
- They need to tick the toppings that they are going to use.
- They must draw the toppings on the pizza and colour it.
- Finally they need to write their chosen toppings and the prices, then add them all up to find out the price of their pizza.
Once all the pizzas are finished, you can split your class into small groups and they can use the pizzas as part of a speaking role play activity, where one student acts as the waiter and 3 or 4 others are customers. You can teach a typical conversation that they all have to take part in to order a pizza in a restaurant.
I have used it in my classes and it’s a lot of fun. Plan for 1 or 2 sessions.
